Watercolor Basics: Holiday Cards at Gnomies

A little paint. A little connection. A lot of love.

Join me, Susan, at Gnomies for a cozy afternoon of watercolor painting, card making, and connection—an event inspired by someone very special to me: my mother, Ursula.

My mother loved connecting with others. During a time when we had to spend the holidays apart, I began sending her handmade cards as a way to stay connected and help keep her spirits up. There was something so meaningful about creating something with my own hands, putting it in the mail, and knowing she would open it and feel loved.

Nothing says “I’m thinking of you” quite like receiving a handmade card.

During this workshop, I’ll share some of my favorite simple watercolor techniques for creating beautiful holiday cards. We’ll play with winter greenery, trees, berries, wreaths, snowy scenes and other easy designs. No watercolor or art experience is needed.

Materials will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own favorite art supplies as well.

Most importantly, we’ll spend some time together slowing down and creating cards for the people we care about —with plenty of time to get them finished, addressed, and into the mail before the holiday rush.

Come make a few cards, share some stories, and send a little handmade love into the world this holiday season. ❤️

Because sometimes the smallest thing arriving in someone's mailbox can mean the most.
