Johann Sebastian Bach

Janet Poisson, soprano

Richard Kelley, trumpet

FIRST MUSIC Chamber Orchestra

Our own JANET POISSON ( Staff Singer Soprano ) will offer this solo-Soprano cantata with

chamber orchestra and solo trumpet in celebration of Thanksgiving Sunday . This special work will

underscore morning worship on November 22 at the 10:00 Sanctuary service .

Janet is well-known to us at The First Church but has enjoyed a prominent career in our region as

featured soloist with the Manchester Choral Society, New Hampshire Music Festival, Pemigewasset

Chorale, Concord Community Chorale, Concord Chorale and Nashua Choral Society . Janet also

joined Upper Valley Baroque Chamber Choir and its professional ensemble for the Bach B minor

Mass and was a soloist with the former Granite State Opera . She sang several seasons with New

Hampshire Master Chorale , and as a regular soloist. Since 2019, she serves a Soprano Staff Singer

at The First Church of Nashua . She received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from The

Boston Conservatory and a BM in Music Education from Plymouth State University .

Our featured Grammy-nominated trumpeter RICHARD KELLEY is a key musician of the Boston

scene. He performs regularly with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Boston

Philharmonic , and other surrounding orchestras. He also performed regularly with the Metropolitan

Opera , the Brooklyn Philharmonic , the New York Pops , and many other orchestral ensembles. He

continued to stretch the boundaries of brass solo and chamber music as a member of Boston Brass

from 1997 to 2005.

During a flourishing orchestral and chamber music career, Kelley has capitalized on his ability to

swiftly and fluently traverse different stylistic genres to also become a force in the studio arena. His

work can be heard on a wide variety of recordings, from national commercials to the Oscar- and

Golden Globe-winning soundtrack to Disney’s Pocahontas .
