About this event
Flora and Floral: Women in Botanical Illustration and Still Life
At a time when women artists had limited access to training and recognition, a few remarkable women did achieve success in art, science, and the marketplace through floral illustration and still-life painting. Inez McDermott will introduce several of these artists from the 16th through 19th centuries, highlighting work that combined scientific curiosity with the creation of beautiful floral images.
